The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has published guidance on how to ensure the effective delivery of eco-towns.
The briefing sets out who should have planning powers and stipulates the level of skills and capacity necessary to carry the plans out.
It states that local authorities will need sufficient in-house or external expertise on environmental impact assessments with eco-town applications to ensure that any negative environmental impacts are recognised.
