Richard Hayward – Professor of Architecture and Urban Design

South East Excellence Advisory Board Member

“A key interest as Head of the School of Architecture and Construction at the University of Greenwich and a founder of the Urban Renaissance Institute is facilitating learning and practice across professional and other stakeholder boundaries. South East Excellence, as conceived by SEEDA provides a vital opportunity to work with these issues to achieve quality built environments in real places across the region.”

Welcome to the South East
Excellence website

South East Excellence was established by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) to support the urban renaissance of our towns and cities. Our task is to bring together organisations that have the skills needed to build, maintain and renew our communities, and help them reach those who want to learn.

This site is the focal point of our new network, bringing together the resources of – and resources useful to – those involved in planning, designing and building community environments. So as well as details of what we do, you will find toolkits, case studies, events listings, news stories and information of organisations in the network. If you are as enthusiastic as we are about building communities and want to get involved, or you simply want to find out more about South East Excellence, please contact us.

Our Mission: Creating opportunities to develop skills to build sustainable communities – quality places where people want to live, work and enjoy their leisure.
